You don't aim to take me from the place for which my soul longs.
You long to give me the world: You long to show me more of Yourself. I make this leap into Your arms not for the things I can receive, But, rather, to trust You more, to know You better. So I wipe from my mind every plan I had for the future. From my speech I remove, "I hope to," For hope makes room in which expectations breed disappointment, And I trust that I will never be disappointed by You. I trust that You are the only deeply satisfying thing. I give You my life. Where You go I'll go, where You settle I'll settle. By Your daily bread I will be sustained, Faithful over that to which You call me now. I trust You to guide me through the wilderness that is life.
